WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO:
SER corporation is a private, non-profit organization funded by the U.S. Department of Labor to help seasonal farmworkers obtain full-time, year-round employment.

WHAT IS A SEASONAL FARMWORKER?
anyone who has done work on a farm, ranch, feedlot, greenhouse, harvest crew, grain elevators, etc. on a seasonal basis.

OUR GOAL:
to help people become retained out of seasonal farmwork into year-round, fulltime employment.

HOW WE ACCOMPLISH OUR GOAL:
1). on the job training-an employer trains our clients on the job. we in turn reimburse the employer for part of the wages paid during the training period.

2). work experience:-the client receives training at a private business or nonprofit agency, obtaining skills that enable the client to find employment. SER pays all the client's wages for the first 250-500 hours on the job.

3). classroom training -we assist the client in obtaining educational skills at a vocational school. this also includes GED and ESL training.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SER PROGRAM:
1). must have done seasonal farmwork in the last two years (24 months).

2). the family income during a twelve month period in the last two years is at or below the SER income guidelines.

3). must be legally eligible to work in the united states.

SUPPORTIVE SERVICES:
we also have assistance to help an individual obtain or keep employment: housing medical nutrition transportation
