GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (G.E.D.)

Another way to complete high school.

What is GED?

The General Educational Development Tests (GED) give students the opportunity to earn a high school equivalency diploma. This credential is recognized as a key to employment opportunities, advancement. further education. and financial rewards. The battery of five tests covers basic academic areas of study.

Where is GED?

Adult Education, located at 1025 Main, provides G.E.D. prep classes, free practice tests, and scheduling for G.E.D. tests

GED eligibility

Anyone 18 years or older Students not currently enrolled in high school Photo ID; social security card; proof of Kansas residency Students younger than 18 require special permission to enroll.

Testing times

GED Official Practice Tests must be passed before scheduling the GED tests. Office Practice Tests are offered on Tuesdays by appointment only.

GED Testing is offered on two Thursdays each month by appointment only.

Barton County Academy
Residents of Barton County who wish to earn a high school diploma from a local school district instead of a Kansas State High School diploma (through G.E.D. testing) should check out the program of the Barton County Academy.
